Our #1 priority. We hand out toiletries and other necessities every other Sunday to the homeless and many others who live on the edge of homelessness. (Elderly on extremely low fixed income, young families just starting out, families who had one bad incident ruin their already precarious finances). All of the items we provide are items that cannot be purchased with a SNAP card (aka food stamps)
These are some other services we have provided: Some are large, some are small, we tried to include examples of each. It is not a complete list, just a bakers dozen examples. Note - we never give money, all payments are made to third parties. (Landlords, hotels, etc.) The larger ones were done through goal specific fundraisers.
.
2. We have gathered baby supplies for young mothers without means to get necessities on their own and connected others who have household items to give with those in need, and if the items are small enough, we pickup and deliver.
3. Helped families with rent to stop eviction when one crisis derailed their finances. (We do not have the means to help anyone on a permanent basis, these are just hand ups from a temporary situation) Note: there are programs to help with this, we send people there first, but those programs are under-funded and at certain times of year simply have no money available.
4. Helped a family with a sick child with expenses to get to and stay at a distant specialty hospital. (Parking, gas, food)
5. Helped single mothers leave a bad situation with temporary shelter and household items to start a new life.
6. Paid for homeless to stay in motels for some of the winters coldest nights.

8. Bought work boots a homeless person needed to start a new job.
9. Donated food in emergency situations
10. Provide referrals for food pantries, housing agencies, victims' services, medical providers and other resources.
11. Supplied sandwiches and snacks to police outposts for children’s after school programs.
12. Implemented a last minute Christmas program for children who’s parents were expecting gifts from other agencies that never came through.
13. Participated in a ready meal program In poor neighborhoods. Providing 250 meals throughout the city.
